Lauren Mullen

For nearly two decades, I’ve been in the heart of education- teaching, leading, innovating, and shaping policies and practices that have impacted students and our community. I’ve worked as a teacher in RCPS, served on committees/boards, participated in shared governance, and navigated the complexities of managing budgets & personnel, policies & procedures, resources, and programs.

I believe in

• filling bookshelves, not tearing them down
• confronting bullying with no exception
• parent voice & parent choice
• advocating for policies and practices that do not marginalize groups of people
• unity that strengthens community

I am a proud Rockingham County resident of 20 years, a former single mom who put herself through school to become a nurse, and someone who knows how to juggle life and leadership. I believe in showing up, fiscal stewardship, common-sense decision-making, and keeping our schools accountable to the RCPS community- free from politics!

It’s time for a school board member that listens and leads! I commit to focus on our kids and their futures, our school employees who matter, and our parents who deserve transparency and trust.
